About the symposium
A platform for primary education research
The International Primary Teacher Education Symposium is an annual event that brings together primary school educators from around the world to discuss best practices in teaching and learning. The symposium provides a platform for educators from different countries to exchange ideas, share experiences and network with each other.
The symposium also offers workshops and presentations on a variety of topics related to primary school education, such as curriculum development, classroom management and assessment. It is organised by the International Association for Primary Education.

Welcome from the organising committee
The 18th International Primary Teacher Education Symposium is held at Kemer, Antalya and is organised by the Classroom Teacher Educators Association. Since 1994, the symposium has been hosted by 18 different faculties of education and has grown in stature through its improved professional and scientific aspects. It is an honour to host the 18th edition at Harran University.
The goal is to bring academics, teachers and students together on the subject of primary school teaching and teacher training, to share experiences and best practice, to build collaboration and coordination, and to generate new ideas and areas of interest for research.
Keynote speakers
Invited addresses from leading scholars in literacy, mathematics education and teacher development.
Panels
Moderated discussions on values education, homework, learning difficulties and children's literature.
Workshops
Hands on sessions including digital storytelling, intelligence games and museum based teaching.

Five days of scholarship and practice
Arrival and opening panel
Registration and accommodation, followed by an evening panel on value education in primary schools.
Opening and keynotes
The opening ceremony, an invited keynote on mathematical learning, parallel sessions and four workshops.
Panels and workshops
Sessions on homework in primary schools, reading circles, digital stories and 21st century skills.
Invited speakers
Contributions on children's literature, immigrant minorities and science history based teaching.
Closing session
A final morning of parallel sessions, followed by the closing of the symposium.
Classroom Teacher Workshop
A dedicated workshop stream analysing current issues in classroom instruction and teacher preparation.
Venue
Mirada Del Mar Hotel, Kemer
The symposium is held at the Mirada Del Mar Hotel in Kemer, Antalya, set within a large green estate on the Mediterranean coast. The hotel offers conference halls, a spa, cinema rooms and a private sandy beach, and is served by Antalya airport around 45 kilometres away.
Presentations, conferences, panels, poster presentations and workshops all take place in this environment, alongside a full social programme.
