The symposium is organised by the Classroom Teacher Educators Association and by the International Association for Primary Education. The 18th edition was hosted at Harran University, continuing a series that has been held by 18 different faculties of education since 1994. Scientific coordination is based at Gazi University.

The international association supports the symposium as a meeting point for primary education research across countries.
